To close the commemorative events of the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, the Somme Departmental Council, in partnership with France Bleu Picardie, the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d'Amiens and Amiens Métropole, held on 8th November a concert and performance in tribute to the millions of men who died during the Great War, especially those who died in the Somme in 1916.

This unique event was entitled Spectacle pour la Paix and included music by Edward Elgar, André Caplet and Maurice Ravel.

From Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 November 2018, everyone was invited to visit one of the 318 military cemeteries of the Somme and to put a flower on a soldier’s grave or a war memorial.
