Petite Musique of the Great War - CD

Petite Musique

In partnership with the Concordia College, St Peter's College, Wesley College and Wilderness School (Australia), the Orchestre de Cuivres d'Amiens - Brass Band has created a CD of music of the Great War entitled Petite Musique of the Great War.

These CDs can be purchased during concerts and performances in France and Australia enabling the history of the towns and villages of the Somme, including Amiens, Pozières, Villers-Bretonneux and Le Hamel, to be better known and remembered.

The CD comes with a 12 page booklet in French and in English about the project, the Orchestre de Cuivres d'Amiens - Brass Band and the four schools involved.

It can be purchased from many sites of remembrance and museums throughout the Somme or mail-ordered by emailing: oca.info@free.fr (10 Euros + delivery charges)

Inspired by the national flowers of remembrance - the poppy for the British and Commonwealth countries, the cornflower for the French and the forget-me-not for the Germans - the 'Association Picarde des Parcs et Jardins' created the "Rose Somme 2016" for the centenary of the Battle of the Somme. In celebration of its first anniversary, the Rose Somme 2016 is now in full bloom at the Elysée Palace.
