The Tour de France is coming to the Somme!
Albert’s 22nd Arms Fair
Each year, Albert holds its traditional meeting for First World War militaria collectors on Easter Sunday at the Jeu de Paume Theatre, next to the town hall.
The Poppy Country Races are held every year and take their participants through the Somme Battlefields, passing in front of many of our memorials including the 1st AIF Memorial at Pozières, the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing, the Ulster Tower and the Newfoundland Memorial Park.
A special "caribou memorial" photography competition is being held from the 1st to 15th March 2015.
Photographs of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment memorials at Beaumont-Hamel, Gueudecourt, Monchy le Preux, Masnières in France, and Courtrai (Kortrik) in Belgium may be entered.
The Historial, Museum of the Great War in Péronne is proposing an ANZAC baking workshop for the "Semaine du Goût".
From 9.30am to 5pm (closed on Wednesdays except for groups)
The third edition of the Albert Book Fair is themed on the centenary of the Great War.

from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm
To remember the animals and men involved in the First World War, a trek on horseback with some fifteen riders and horses will follow the Western Front from Nieuport to Chipilly in the Somme, stopping at Auchonvillers, Thiepval, and Pozières on 21st August and Albert and Chipilly on the 22nd.
