During the commemorations of the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, the Albert Trench Museum is organising a parade composed of 1916 people, accompanied by 100 pipers, on 30 June 2016.
Organised in partnership with the Town of Albert and the Poppy Country District Council.
9pm: 1916 people wearing a red top and accompanied by 100 pipers, will leave from l’Esplanade de la Solidaire (station) carrying a torch. They will then head to the Place d'Armes (basilica), pass through the tunnels of the museum before arriving at Place Emile Leturcq.
10.30pm to 12am – Concert. Lanterns sent into the sky in remembrance of the soldiers.
