Centenary of the liberation of Péronne

September 1 :

Walking tour Péronne-Assevillers for Cecil Healy, free participation (300 people maximum). Meet at the church of Assevillers at 12.30. Then bus transport to the starting point at Mont-Saint-Quentin at 13.00. Booking here.

In partnership with the municipality of Assevillers, the City of Péronne will host a walk in memory of the Australian swimmer Cecil Healy, Olympic medalist in 1912.

A walk of 12.5 km will be jointly organised by the two municipalities with the help of several local walking associations. The walk will follow the route taken by the Australian soldiers during the capture of Mont-Saint-Quentin and Péronne in August-Septembre 1918, and will end at the Assevillers military cemetery where Cecil Healy is buried.

September 2 :

Concert de la Libération
From 3 pm to 4.30 pm, a free concert (program to be confirmed) will be held in the Mac Orlan Espace. At the end of the concert, attendees will be invited to move in procession to the site of the official ceremony organised in partnership with the French and Australian authorities.

5.30 pm : Official ceremony organised in partnership with the French and Australian authorities at the Australian Memorial of Mont-St-Quentin. Secure access. Identity card required.
