Among Us Outdoor Exhibition -Amiens

Among Us Outdoor Exhibition -Amiens

From Monday 24 April 2017 to Sunday 31 December 2017

Appearing from the walls and façades of Amiens, photographs of WW1 soldiers remind us of how they were billeted in this beautiful city during the First World War.

The outdoor exhibition takes visitors through the streets of Amiens, where the faces of these young men who came in the defence of freedom can be perceived. These photographs appear to emerge from the walls and illustrate the soldiers' involvement in the war. Through this art installation, the city of Amiens wanted to not only pay tribute to them, but also show its immense gratitude to their descendants, who come each year from such countries as Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. Next to the magnificent photographs belonging to the Imperial War Museum and the Australian War Memorial are photographs from a collection discovered at Warloy-Baillon. This private collection of photographic plates is kept at the Franco-Australian Museum in Villers-Bretonneux.
