This place gives a moving and realistic view of the battles thanks to an admirably well-preserved network of trenches. Remains and memorials line this huge site: the monument to the 29th Division, to which the Newfoundland Regiment belonged, the monument to the 51st Highland Division, Caribou Mound (the caribou being the insignia of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment), the "danger tree"... An interpretation centre rounds off the visit (reconstruction of a Newfoundland interior, information panels and office, free guided tours in French and English).
Coming from Albert, follow direction Aveluy then Beaumont-Hamel.
