Pozières, in the shadow and light
From 1 to 10 July 2011, Son et Lumière show in Pozières with 20 scenes and 80 actors : "Pozières in shadow and light"...
Organized by the Digger Cote 160 Association, the son et lumière show a portrait of life in on village during the 1916 Battle of the Somme.
Pozières witnessed one of the bloodiest battle scenes of the Great War, in which soldiers from many different nationalities fought each other.
Members of a volunteer theatre group from Pozières and nearby villages play the characters in the historical scenes accompanied by a variety of events such as entertainment on the village square (the Somme Battlefield Pipe Band, songs from the war days, English folk dances, among others).
