The Li'l Upper Somme Train...
Lovers of old railways will be delighted by the tunnel, the overline bridge, the Z-shaped hairpin bend, the gradient in the forest, not forgetting the old wooden benches, the jolting and mayby even a few cinders ! And just think that this line once carried the 'Poilus', the soldiers of the Great War !
This Train runs between Froissy and Dompierre on a line built in 1916. It was used during the Somme Battles in the First World War to supply food to the trenches and to the artillery.
Today, you can come aboard and admire the Upper Somme view !
The train tour lasts one hour and takes you across woods, fields, ponds of the Somme.
Goods trains with ancient steam engines and wagons will run also.
The Narrow Way railway Museum (the biggest museum of this type in the world 1800 m2) exhibits one part of the Association collection (37 steam engines and about an hundred wagons) will be open, jazzy atmosphere with the band "Question and Answer", private modelling collections....
Outside a small steam locomotive, a reduced model of the real one, will take you on a 180m tour.
